Biography

Toby Frossell (b. 1991 Bedford, UK)

Toby is an experimental artist known for his evocative explorations of the human figure, portraiture, and childhood memories. Blending abstraction with distorted realism, his work delves into personal narratives, reconstructing fragmented recollections through layered textures and expressive mark-making.

Drawing inspiration from old family photographs, momories, and the sensory impressions of his youth, Toby’s paintings, drawings and mixed-media pieces often carry an emotional rawness—faces emerging from smudged colours, figures dissolving into chaotic brushstrokes, and stories unfolding in nonlinear, distorted compositions. His process is deeply intuitive, allowing memory and emotion to shape each piece organically.

Toby has exhibited internationally, with works featured in galleries across the U.S. and Europe. His art explores the boundaries between memory and reality discovery the beauty in the mundane.
